Our compression algorithm has the following features: • Fast 1D and 2D compression • Ability to sort compressed data sets. • Improved random access times for large data sets • Ability to compress data to disk or tape • Compression fully integrated within our internal data format Frequently raw land shot records can contain spikes and high amplitude anomalies. With competing multi-trace compression algorithms, this type of data can become corrupted by the compression. By using GeoCenter's 1D compression algorithm, the damage can be minimized. |
